Emma Degg is the Chief Executive of the North West Business Leadership Team (NWBLT). Emma has spent her career focussed upon bringing together business leaders and policy makers to make a tangible difference, nationally, across the North West and in local government. She regards the promotion of responsible business leadership as essential to the future of the UK economy. In her opening words, Emma will bring this expertise to discussing the transformative role of major projects in addressing economic and social imbalances.

Rachel Skinner is the President of the Institution of Civil Engineers. She is also Executive Director (Transport) of WSP and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. A transport planner and geographer by technical background, Rachel has authored and co-authored several publications, most recently on driverless vehicles, shared mobility and future place-making. She is involved with strategic projects for clients across the public and private sectors, including leadership of a growing portfolio of future mobility projects in the UK and overseas. 

In her keynote speech, Rachel will discuss the crucial role of major projects in addressing productivity and connectivity imbalances, promoting a clean and green recovery as part of the journey to Net Zero, and improving the quality of our national infrastructure.
