  6. 6. What are the benefits of the locator function?
The locator function is the first of its kind, revolutionising the event experience for delegates, event organisers, exhibitors and sponsors. It improves and better targets all communications between users at an event by allowing them to be located and sent direct messages according to their proximity or presence within a breakout session, for example. The function diversifies the level of evaluation data available by measuring and tracking footfall and collating this with delegate profiles. For exhibitors, sponsors and organisers this helps them to see highly individualised delegates, suited to highly targeted event material. Back to Top
  7. 7. How does the locator function work?
The locator function is based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology and generates Indoor Positioning Systems (IPS) and Area Notification Systems (ANS) for events. BLE beacons use Bluetooth low energy proximity sensing to transmit a universally unique identifier picked up by a compatible app or operating system. The identifier can then be looked up over the internet to determine the device’s physical location or trigger an action on the device. Back to Top
