Plenary - The Defence as a Platform Journey

In this session, Mike Stone the MOD Chief Digital and Information Officer will guide us through the Defence as a Platform (DaaP) journey. He will introduce the golden thread of the symposium - DISRUPTION - and explore how we can exploit this to deliver a vibrant set of evergreen information services to Defence. He will begin with a short review of progress to date and then using some imaginative techniques walk us through the next stage of the journey, including announcing the procurement approach to DaaP (Future) and the status of both the MODNET and the Morpheus at Pace programme.

Mike will be joined at different stages by his Directors to consider key elements of the journey.

In Defence as a Customer Platform, we will explore how we (ISS and industry) must put the customer at the heart of everything that we do, if we are to deliver a dynamic set of meaningful information capabilities.  We will investigate overall defence and front line command needs, the pan government perspective, how user centric design is the vital ingredient, and how industry has shaped customer journeys.
