Academies’ financial returns: online presentations and webinars
The Education Funding Agency (EFA) is providing a series of online presentations and webinars to support academies in making their financial returns and understanding the financial framework.
This online approach to training allows you instant access to relevant information; you can view the material from your computer at a convenient time, without the need for travel.
Six filmed presentations and their associated slide packs have been uploaded, and they can be accessed now on the presentations page. They cover:
- March accounts returns: how to complete your March accounts return – for academy trusts that did not prepare financial statements at 31 August 2013 or opened new academies between 1 September 2013 and 31 March 2014.
- Budget forecasts: how to complete your 2014 to 2015 budget forecast return – for all academies.
- Connected bodies transactions: an overview of the at cost principles – for all academies and their auditors.
- Academies accounts direction 2014: guidance for preparing the academy trusts financial statements – for all academies and their auditors.
- Financial statements: feedback from the 2012 to 2013 audited financial statements – for all academies and their auditors.
- Academies financial handbook 2014: an overview of academies' financial responsibilities and requirements and an update on the key changes from the 2013 edition – for all academies and their auditors.
The other presentation will cover:
- Annual accounts returns: how to complete your annual accounts returns for the 2013 to 2014 academic year – for academies preparing financial statements.
The annual accounts return presentation will be available in September.
There is also a series of
live webinars:
- 2nd December 2pm: August accounts return – a chance to ask questions on completing your return, having viewed our narrated presentation which will be available in September. Click here to register for the webinar.
You will have the opportunity to submit questions to our panel during the webinars. You can also submit questions in advance when you register or by logging back into your registration and selecting ‘edit information’ on the registration tab. If you can’t make the set times and dates for the webinars, you will still be able to view a recording of the webinar on this site after the event.
The EFA ran four further webinar events in May, June and July 2014:
