The Forum: ‘Learning Together, Creatively Collaborating’ By Lol Burke, Helena Gosling and Sarah MacLennan

Over the past four years, Liverpool John Moores University has provided an opportunity for criminal justice service users, practitioners, academics and students to learn from one another through the provision of an educational initiative called Learning Together. We are the only university in the country to offer an opportunity for people with varied insights and experiences of ‘criminal justice’ to come together and think about key contemporary criminal justice issues in a higher education setting. As such, we have had to ‘think outside the box’ and engage in more creative, collaborative ways of working. With this in mind, the aim of our workshop is to give you an insight into Learning Together at Liverpool John Moores as well as an opportunity to engage with some of the creative approaches that we use both within and beyond the classroom to stimulate and engage a diverse student body.
