Welcome to the Higher Technical Qualifications Engagement Events. These events have been designed to help employers and providers find out everything they need to know about Higher Technical Qualifications, and how to get involved.

Higher Technical Qualifications are a high-quality addition to technical training routes, alongside apprenticeships, traineeships or degrees. They are new and existing Level 4 and 5 qualifications (such as HNDs/Foundation Degrees/Diploma HE) that have been approved against occupational standards in their sector.

They’ve been developed by awarding bodies in collaboration with employers, so employers can be sure their workforce will have the right training, knowledge and skills for the company to succeed.

The first teaching of approved qualifications became available from September 2022 starting with Digital. Construction and Health and Science will follow from September 2023. The remaining routes will roll out for teaching from 2024 and 2025, broadly following the same pattern as T Levels. These qualifications have been developed by awarding bodies in collaboration with employers and businesses so that students get the specific training, knowledge and skills required for their chosen career.
