Organisations who employ individuals or have volunteers who carry out regulated activity with children or adults have a legal duty to refer to DBS if certain conditions are met.  This bitesize session will focus on DBS’ Barring functions, with a particular focus on understanding this legal duty to refer.

Keynote: Employ with Conviction


George Warrington, Operation’s Lead, Better Hiring Institute. 
George introduces guidance on Improving the Employing of People with Convictions which will provide employers with practical recommendations for hiring those with criminal convictions and provide details of relevant organisations who might be able to support further with this. The guide has been built in collaboration with industry experts, MPs, Peers, and is supported by Disclosure Scotland and DBS and is sure to change the course of hiring those with convictions.
