Join us as our Coffee Van parks up (virtually) around our offices in the UK.
Hi all,
As your new Regional Managing Partner, I wanted to get out and talk to you all in my first few months in role. Our people are our business, and I want to hear your thoughts, ideas and feedback to help shape our strategy in UK & Ireland.
Alas, my plan to visit you all in person isn’t possible at the moment so instead I’ll be parking up virtually in a series of events I am calling my virtual coffee van tour… because the idea is that you grab a coffee and meet me online.
These will be relaxed events where I can tell you more about our plans for the business and you can tell me more about you and ask anything you want to. Hearing from you, and getting to you know more about your experience is really important to me.
At each event I’ll also be joined by Alison Kay, our new Managing Partner – Client Service. Alison’s role brings together the strengths of our teams in markets, sectors, geographies and Service Lines to collectively win in the market and grow our business. That combined approach is already making a positive difference, which Alison will tell you more about.
Joining us on our virtual road trip will be other members of the UK&I Executive (our leadership team) and Office Managing Partners, who will be on hand to take your questions.
Please register for the event most relevant to you below – and if you can’t make that one, we’ll find another that you can. Everyone is welcome, whether your role is UK&I, FS or Global Executive.
I’m really looking forward to this time with you.
Thanks
Hywel
We're really looking forward to spending time with you!
About Hywel
Hi, I’m Hywel. I’ve been at EY for 35 years, starting as a trainee auditor. I live on the Scottish Borders and have three sons – and lots of dogs! I’ve held many different roles at EY in both England and Scotland and I’ve worked with a lot of different clients.
I have a big interest in how firms can be more purpose-driven and was involved in EY’s long-term value work; that’s something I’m looking forward to talking to you more about. I’m proud of our EY Foundation work and all the great charitable work I see throughout the business, but I’d love EY to do more for society.
I’ve been at EY for all my working life because I believe in our business and feel I belong here; however, I’m saddened to hear that you don’t all have the same experience, and that’s something I want to improve under my leadership.
We certainly have a lot to talk about.

About Alison
Hi, I’m Alison. I joined EY as a direct admit Partner 16 years ago from Accenture. I started my career on a graduate programme with a large utilities company in the North West of England, and 20 years later I became the EY GCSP for the very same business.
That early experience in industry, and my years spent in consulting, impressed on me the importance of exceptional client service. We know that when our people from across our business come together, with their diverse strengths, we deliver the very best outcome for our clients.
We also know that as a UK business and large employer we can play a big role right now in reviving the economy. That underlining sense of purpose is a real motivator for us to be out in the market, using our collective insight and skills to help businesses get back on their feet or even capitalise on the opportunities in the current environment.
Meanwhile, my motivators at home include my two young children. Together we enjoy music – although they prefer modern classics to my piano playing – and adventures by the water with our new puppy.
